workshops
Workshops
are a great way to learn a new skill and/or to improve on the skills
you already have. We have workshops suitable for all skill levels
and aim to keep them fun and relaxed. All our workshops are run
by Certified Art Clay Instructors and we are all members of the Art
Clay World Guild. Our workshops are normally held in
Berkshire although we do sometimes have them elsewhere in the country.
Also we are happy to tailor make a
course to suit your needs. With all of the workshops you will
leave with Pure Silver jewellery ready to wear!!
Refreshments are available all day.
We

GlasClay ***

Why not join us to learn how to use this
fabulous new product. During the day, you will be shown how to
mix the GlasClay powder, shape it, texture it, mould it, set stones,
etc. You will also learn various drying, refining and finishing
techniques. Some items may be fired on the day although this may depend
on the items made. We will discuss as well as provide you with detailed
firing instructions and you can choose to either leave your pieces with
us to fire and send onto you or you may take it home with you to be
fired. You will be given a minimum of 30g of the clay, use of all
tools, moulds etc. The cost of this workshop is £95 which includes
30g of GlasClay,
gemstones, etc. Off course you will also have use of
all tools needed.

Resin
Clay ***

A
fabulous new product that allows you to create anything you can imagine
in Epoxy Resin. During the day, you will be shown how to mix the Epoxy Resin
Clay, shape it, texture it, mould it, set stones, etc. You will also
learn how paint or add colour to your pieces, refining and finishing
techniques. You will be given a minimum of 40g of the clay, use of all
tools, moulds etc. NO FIRING OR BAKING NEEDED. The
cost of this workshop is £85 which includes at least 40g of
Resin Clay,
gemstones, mica powders, colourants, paint, glitter, etc. Off
course you will also have use of
all tools needed.

Chunky Charms

|
Learn
to make large hole beads with silver clay and polymer clay. These
techniques can be used to create your very own personalised beads
for Pandora, Trollbeads, Biaggi, etc. style bracelets.
During this
workshop you will be shown how to make a base for your beads which you
can then embelish with silver clay, paste or syringe type.
We will
also show you how to make these beads using various colours of polymer
clay. Why not add a bit of bling with Cubic Zirconias or glitter.
Previous
experience with Silver Clay would be beneficial. The cost of this workshop is £85 which includes
10g of Art Clay Silver,
gemstones, polymer clay, glitter, use of syringe and paste type.
Off course you will also have use of
all tools needed.

Resin
Rings

|
Learn
to make gorgeous rings from your own or ready made moulds. During
this
workshop you will be shown how to make your own moulds suitable for use
with resins. You will also learn how to mix resin, add colour,
glitter, various elements and how to finish off your pieces to create a
beautiful jewellery. Previous experience with resin would be
beneficial. The cost of the course is £70 and
includes use of moulds,
all the resin, colours, glitter, etc you will need as well as ring
findings and use of all all tools
needed. |
Woven
Chains

|
Learn
to make beautiful sterling silver chains using an old technique
and personalised toggle clasps from silver clay to finish off your
chain - this is not chain maille. During this workshop you will
be
shown how to create various styles of chains and you will leave with at
least one completed sterling silver chain. You will also be shown
how
to make toggle clasps from silver clay and securely attach them.
These
chains are really gorgeous and completely unique. With experience
you
will be able to make these chains in about 30 minutes!! Perfect
to
display your handmade resin or silver clay creations. Previous
experience in silver clay would be beneficial. The cost of this
workshop is £85 and includes 10g of Art Clay Silver, cubic
ziconias,
sterling silver wire, craft wire (to practise on) and use of all tools
needed. |
Art Clay
Basics - a one day
course.
 |
This workshop
is suitable for novices as well as those
more familiar
with working with Art Clay Silver. The workshop lasts for
about 5 hours and will introduce you to all the basics of handling the
clay, shaping, texturing etc. As well as different methods to finish
off your designs. You will also have the opportunity to use Art
Clay in the Syringe form. The cost of this workshop is £70
which includes 10g of
Art Clay Silver and the use of all tools needed. |
Fingerprint
Jewellery using Art Clay Silver - an intensive
one day course
 |
During this
workshop you will be taught how to capture
a fingerprint onto Silver Clay, preparation of the
Silver Clay, setting gemstones, adding names, date of birth or a
"kiss". Plus different methods of firing. Soldering
techniques
and finishing your projects to a professional standard.
Especially important if you want to start your own business.
Suitable for all levels. The cost of this workshop is
£110
which includes 20g of Art Clay Silver,
gemstones, findings and the use of
all tools needed. We were the first company to teach this
workshop and
to date we have taught over 350 students from all over the world!!

Silver Imprints - a one day course

During
this workshop you will be taught how to transfer a child's drawing,
hand and foot print or animal pawprint onto a piece of Pure Silver
Jewellery. We will show you 2 different techniques to
achieve this. Writing names and finising
your pieces to a professional standard will also be covered.
Previous experience with Silver Clay is essential. The
cost of the course includes at least 10g of Art Clay 650 and you will
have use of all tools and equipment needed. The cost of the
course is £85. |
Resin Jewellery - Everything you
need to know about making jewellery with Resins

Learn
how to make beautiful one of kind pieces of jewellery. You will
learn how to mix, colour and pour resin. We will also cover how
to add glitter, beads, found objects, pictures, etc. You will
leave with all you can make during this fun workshop. The
skills you will learn during this workshop
will allow you to make gorgeous pieces that will be the envy of
all your friends. This course will cover all the techniques you
will need for all the different resin products we currently stock and
supply. The cost of the course includes all the resin you
will need, use of moulds and all the tools and
equipment needed. The cost of the course is £65. |
Mixed
Media -
A beginners guide to Enamelling on Art Clay Silver

During this workshop you
will have the opportunity to create items that can be easily enamelled.
Previous experience of working with Metal Clay is
recommended. The workshop lasts for about 5 hours
- in the morning you will learn how to make an item suitable
for the application of enamels. In the afternoon, you
will add the enamels and finish off your
piece by polishing, etc. The cost of this workshop is £70
and includes 10g of
Art Clay Silver, the enamels and the use of
all tools as needed. |
Mixed Media - Make
this gorgeous bracelet using Art Clay Silver, Polymer Clay, Resin
and Beads

Create
this bracelet which has been inspired by the one that that graces
the cover of Sherri Haab's book - 'Metal
Clay and Mixed Media'.
During this workshop you will learn how to make simple silver
metal clay charms and bead forms. After the metal clay is fired and
finished, you will go on to make beautiful mixed media jewellery
pieces. Techniques include: using Resin, glitter, beads, polymer
clay and collage elements to add colour and sparkle to your
finished metal clay charms and beads. Finished pieces can then be used
in a variety of ways. Make enough pieces to complete a fabulous charm
bracelet. This class will inspire you to look at simple craft
materials in a whole new way when combined with silver clay, to
create designer style jewellery. The cost of this workshop is
£110 and includes 25g of Art Clay Slver, Resin, Beads, Polymer
Clay, Headpins, Jumprings and the use of all tools as needed.

Ring Making - Create your
very own customised Rings

During this
workshop, you will be taught how to make 2 different types of
rings.
You will also be taught how to set a stone, how to measure for
the perfect fit, adding texture or syringe patterns. This
workshop is suitable for those with some experience with Metal Clay.
The cost of this workshop is £80 and includes 14g of Art
Clay Silver, gemstones and use of all tools as needed. |
Keum
Boo -
Ancient Korean art of transferring Gold to Metal
 |
During
this
workshop, you will learn how to fuse 24k Gold Foil to your very
own Fine Silver creations. This is a brilliant way of adding Gold
to your pieces without it costing a fortune. This workshop is fun
and easy. This
workshop is suitable for those with some experience with Metal Clay.
The cost of this workshop is £110 and includes 20g of Art
Clay Silver, 24k Gold Foil and use of all tools as needed. |
Certification
Courses - Level 1 &
Level 2
 |
Level 1
- This
Instructor Certification course runs over 3 days and provides you with
a sound knowledge of all the Art Clay Silver products available.
The course covers 7 projects which have been chosen to teach you
all the techniques involved in using the different types of clay,
setting stones, bezels, using the syringe and using cork clay to create
hollow shapes. After successfully
completing all 7 projects you will receive a Certificate from Art Clay
World UK. This certification entitles you to run Introductory
Workshops in Art Clay with the help and guidance of the Art Clay Guild.
Everyone who completes a Level 1 Certification course will be
entitled to a 20% on Art Clay Silver products purchased from us.
The cost of the course is £360 and includes all
the materials,
stones, silver findings, a complete toolkit for you to keep and the Art
Clay Silver Basics book. Previous experience with the clay is
essential.

Level 2
- This Certification
course is designed for those that are serious about teaching or if you
want a more in depth knowledge of working with Metal Clay. It
runs over 4 days and builds on all the knowledge you gained during the
Level 1 course. During this course we cover more advanced
techniques such as using Gold Foil, Glass Fusing, etc. You will
also have a chance to use the Art Clay Gold Paste. To successfully
complete your Level 2 Certification you will need to submit 3
additional pieces to the Art Clay Guild.
On successful completion you will be able to run
Introductory, Level 1 and Level 2 courses. Everyone who
completes a Level 2 Certification course will be entitled to a 30% on
Art Clay Silver products purchased from us.
The cost of the
course is £470 and includes all the materials, stones, glass,
Gold Products,
a toolkit that builds on the one you received during Level
1 for you to keep
and the Art Clay Silver Advanced book. You must have
completed the Level 1 Certification Course to do Level 2.
